Women in Philippine Postage Stamps

Retracing her story through mail.

WIPPS is an on-going personal research and digital archive project. It is aimed to showcase representation of women in postage stamps, a historically important piece of ephemera and to re-highlight the role women have played in Philippine history.

The project hopes to instill appreciation and support for our local post office; proactively fighting against the obsoletion of letter-sending and postage stamps.

To access the collection from my personal Instagram, view them here:

OPEN CALL: The project is accepting submissions for postage stamps. Preferably, but not limited to, those that include women and non-binary individuals. Please send them my way at vanillaarucan@gmail.com.
